Dolores Suarez and Caroline Grant founded Soho based design firm Dekar Design in 2000. Native
New Yorkers and Georgetown graduates, Dolores and Caroline’s design philosophy embraces classical values but isn’t afraid to turn traditionalism on its head. Dekar designs with a particular sensitivity to architecture, whether they are customizing an ultra modern loft space in a new development or re-imagining a century old West Village townhouse. They take inspiration from the architectural bones to create unique and authentic spaces.
From New York to Los Angeles, Toronto and Vietnam, Dekar has brought precision tuned personality
to residential and commercial projects including Rosemary’s, Bobo and Ribot in NYC and Café Nervosa in Toronto.
Dekar has been nominated for a Travel & Leisure Design Award and named one of America’s
“Top Young Interior Designers” by House Beautiful. Dolores and Caroline’s work has also been featured in Domino, The World of Interiors, T Magazine, Glamour, “Wall Street Journal” and New York Magazine. The firm’s work was recently featured in Dark Nostalgia published by Random House.
